- When you put up a slide, your audience’s attention goes there instead of on you.
- Make your point first, then display slide to support it.
- Slide content:
- Less text
- Dark room, dark background, light room, light background
- Easy to read font
- Avoid distracting listeners:
- No “ums”, etc
- No fidgeting
- Professional, businesslike attire
- Try videotaping yourself and watching
- Preparation
- Get yourself in a relaxed state
- Make a prep checklist:
- Power cord
- Presentation remote
- Turn screensaver off
- Turn powersave off
