Maybe, but I got the impression they weren’t as bad as those in IE (mostly URL spoofing and such). There’s nothing that will run arbitrary code as soon as you view a Web page, is there?

Actually, Diana and her mom won’t go near my PC, mostly because of the way I reacted the one time Diana did. :P And this thing’s getting password-protected once Lenny can reach the keyboard by himself.

You’re right, though - I’m not really patched properly, and the firewall is the only thing keeping the worms at bay. If Diana’s mom downloaded something bad to her PC, I’d be infected in a heartbeat. :/ Hasn’t happened yet though. (We’re all fairly savvy about that sort of thing, and I have them using Firefox rather than IE.)

actually, dude, i feel for you. it’s rather fucked up that you were the victim of such a thing, but at least this was the extent of it, and you were able to get some of the cash back.

that’s one reason i’m glad that i live by myself. i don’t have to worry about other people messing with my computer and inadvertantly dropping trojans or whatnot all over it. not that your issue was necessarily a virus issue, or that your gal caused it.

i think i’m just rambling. cuz, y’know. it’s 4. and i have an hour till i can leave work. and it’s just.. mind numbing to be here.

Actually, I would prefer it if you didn’t mail the payment. Mysterious letters/packages make my new russian bride nervous. Perhaps we can work out some other kind of barter?
