Finally made curry rice for Diana. She loved it, but man, I’d forgotten how much effort it was. Even with the (awesome) new knife set, cutting up the chicken and all those vegetables took nearly an hour.
I’m here at work chomping on (some of) the leftovers, though, and it’s still good. I have to remind myself that I wouldn’t have leftovers with fast food, and I’d still spend nearly as much time going and getting it.

What… in the world… are you talking about? From start to finish I can have curry rice done in 15 minutes. (And yes, that includes rice cooker time.) Unless you’re factoring in child disturbances, what are you doing when cutting that’s taking so long?

I guess I didn’t account for child disturbances, of which there were surely a couple in there. And this was a pretty big batch - a pound of chicken, and probably 2 pounds of potatoes, carrots, and celery to peel and slice. I think a better vegetable peeler would cut the time quite a bit, though.
