The baby is currently seeing or needs to see the following types of doctors:
-Neurosurgeon
-Plastic surgeon
-Neurologist
-Geneticist
-Urologist
-Ear/Nose/Throat specialist
The most serious problem is that a “suture” between the plates in the front of his skull fused prematurely and can’t grow properly. They’ll need to open it up and insert a piece of donor bone. This doctor has a 0% rate of major complications over 17 years, but it’s still majorly scary.
When they’re done, he’ll be normal and healthy. But this is going to be a very stressful and expensive year.

I feel the pain, dude. I know how scary this sort of thing can be. My oldest is still going through all her treatments and it’s been close to 4 years now. It’ll probably be another 7 years or so before there’s a chance of things stopping. The prospect of neurosurgery on a child so young is a breathtaking thing. I’m not really religious or anything, but i’m rooting for you and the family.

I didn’t realize Raven even had any health issues. Is it serious?
I’m not even worrying about it for right now. I’m sure it’s one of those things where the reality will sink in 2 days before the surgery, I’ll stress like crazy for 48 hours, and then it’ll be over and nothing more than a fun story to tell.
I’ll take that over having to treat a chronic condition any day. My heart goes out to you as well.

Oh, and even though we’re seeing a neurosurgeon, they’re not going to have to touch his brain at all - just the skull. I’d be *majorly* scared if they were gonna have to poke around in his grey matter.
