I just realized that my previous post mentions NyQuil, and the one before that mentions DayQuil.
I’m spending a lot of the time sick, aren’t I? I suppose I should start sleeping occasionally. Kind of hard with Lenny barging into the room at random times of the night, though.

That was all I had energy to do before I crashed. (NyQuil is the devil.)
Diana’s mom had already arranged to stay home and watch her, which is a good thing, because Lenny’s also home from school with a 105-degree fever (same bug I have, probably). Diana’s in no shape to watch him herself, and I can’t really take off work.
I can’t wait until I’m established in this job, and have actual vacation and sick time.

People speak of my predecessor in reverent tones around here, but I’m really not sure why. Maybe he was especially good at coping with a decidedly crappy language (Informix 4GL). But from my point of view, this code is a disaster, and I can’t help feeling I could do better even in 4GL.
I want very badly to rip everything out and start over. My boss isn’t a big 4GL fan, either, so maybe I’ll get my chance.

I resisted the urge to snort them.
